Liam and Laura have been together for eight years. They met through a dating website, it was Laura’s last try before she was about to give up and in walked Liam. They moved in with each other straight away before buying the house they now inhabit in St Albans with three cats. Laura is, by profession, a PA. So, as you might imagine, nothing had been left to chance and the wedding was wonderfully considered. I loved the more unusual grey and yellow theme she had chosen, super-sophisticated.
My day started at the barbers photographing Liam with his best man – his youngest brother – and Laura’s Dad. Clean shaves all around and no nicked chins! I then went to off to the venue, St Michael’s Manor.
Laura had four bridesmaids, one of whom, Katie, I knew having photographed her wedding a few years back. Now here she was pregnant and due in November and looking blooming marvellous.
Post ceremony guests availed themselves of a well-mixed G&T at the gin bar on the terrace and later, when hunger set in, a donut cart was well-timed. One of my favourite shots was the one where the whole of the wedding party let off balloons into the sky. I also love the one of L&L under the confetti-filled balloons when they took to the floor for their first dance. Luckily, Laura definitely had her dancing shoes on – a rather lustful, sparkly pair of silver Jimmy Choos bought for her by her Aunty, shoes being another great love in Laura’s life – second to her new husband of course.
Congratulations Laura and Liam!
