Weddings are a family affair, but none more so that Danielle and Tom’s where parents and siblings pulled out all the stops to give them a good and proper send off. Tom’s brother the best man, his sister skilfully made the wedding cake, and Danielle’s Mum who spent ages getting the venue just so before throwing on her mother-of-the-bride outfit at the last minute in style.
This wedding was a little way out of my usual stomping grounds, held at The Bringewood in Burrington, with 250 acres of grounds that straddled the stunning countryside of South Shropshire and North Herefordshire. Real, red-brick country. And absolutely gorgeous. I travelled up the night before and was able to drink it all in.
The church, St Giles’ set right by the River Teme, overlooked the picturesque town of Ludlow, and Frankie and Harry (and didn’t they look gorgeous in their suits?) had a blast showering their parents in confetti.
A huge cheer welcomed them to their reception before the hog roast was devoured, speeches delivered al-fresco (a nice touch) and the party ensued, taking full advantage of being in the middle of nowhere with no-one around to tell them to turn the music down – or indeed off. Just perfect.
