Your wedding may be the biggest day of your life and you’ll want to remember and recall every minute and detail, which is why your wedding photographer is so important. I’ll be there to chronicle the whole day for you, from capturing the nervous energy of the groom and bridal preparations right through to those unguarded dancefloor moments when the party’s in full swing.
I’d like to tell you a little bit about my approach to wedding photography.
Firstly, I get nervous – just like you will on your wedding day. Even now, after doing this for many years, I still get a tight tingling feeling in my stomach. This is a good thing though. It means I care about the work I do, that I am always striving to do the very best for you.
Every wedding I shoot, it’s my job to capture unique memories that will last a lifetime. Cakes will be eaten, table decorations forgotten but photographs will remain always. I want you to look back at your wedding photographs and not just see the events that occurred, but to remember how you felt in those moments too. If my photography can spark an emotion – be it a tear or a smile, then I have done good. And this is what makes me happy.
My main job on a wedding day is to make you feel comfortable having me there to capture your day. This is why I like to meet you beforehand and get to know you. I myself am naturally quite a shy person, so if you want a photographer bossing you around all day with lots of posed photographs then I am probably not for you. Of course I direct when required, but generally I like to class myself as a documentary wedding photographer, one who blends into the background, capturing those key moments and emotions between you and your partner and friends and family. I understand that group shots need to be taken but the real stories come from laughter, tears, hands being held, seemingly tiny moments, and so those are my focus.
Choosing a wedding photographer that’s right for you is a big decision. There are lots of us out there and there are lots of different styles to choose from. If you like my work, (which I guess you must like a little if you are reading this in the first place, but do please read my latest wedding blog posts and my wedding portfolio to see more!) please get in touch. We can arrange to meet up for a no-obligation chat, so that I can hear more about your wedding plans and I can explain face to face why I am so passionate about being behind my beloved camera.
