There are some people you meet that you feel like you’ve known for ages, and that’s how I felt when I met Carly and Stephen. Perhaps it’s because they live in one of my old haunts, Church Crookham, or perhaps just a testament to their loveliness, I just had a really, really special time working with them.
I started the day with Stephen who was at his parents’ house showing off his handiwork with his band of brothers (four, including him) and two ushers. He is, for clarification, a carpenter and had recently completed an extension on their house – hence the scaffolding shot, which I love, and which some were keener to climb the ladder than others…
The wedding took place at Northbrook Park, a beautiful, olde-worlde venue in Farnham. Carly was already there with her four bridesmaids and her mum, looking absolutely radiant – doubly radiant with her bridal air and beautifully rounded baby bump, due to welcome a little girl in around one months time. Despite being in the later stages of her pregnancy, she managed to rock a sky-high pair of satin Louboutins with her gorgeous Grecian dress.
In fact, being pregnant doesn’t seem to have slowed Carly down in any way whatsoever, expectant mums take note! She had put so much effort into planning her wedding, whilst working right up to the day, I’m hoping she gets to relax a little now.
The ceremony flowed naturally, as did emotions, particularly during the father of the bride speech. But if anyone felt a little teary, the best man did his best to dispel that with one of the most hilarious speeches I’ve ever heard – and I’ve heard a few!
Autumn felt very much in the air, a few showers here and there but nothing to dampen spirits, instead fantastic rays of light in between with a gorgeous spectrum of coloured leaves on the turn. Some even matching Carly’s wicked red-soled heels. Now that’s what I call planning…
Congratulations Carly & Stephen, I really hope we can stay in touch. Newborn photography next?!
